The Happy Goodmans have been entertaining audiences for over fifty years and are responsible for some of Gospel music's most memorable songs. Recent inductees into the gospel Music Hall of Fame, The Happy Goodmans consisting of Vestal and Howard Goodman and John Minick, have earned multiple Grammy and Dove Awards, and numerous other accolades. In 1997, Howard and Vestal were presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to Gospel Music.

Recently The Goodmans have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and this CD captures for posterity the tribute concert that was held in their honour at the Ryman Auditorium. Such is the esteem in which they are held by fellow musicians that the list of supporting actors includes luminaries such as Jane Paschal, Jessy Dixon, George Jones, Mark Lowry, the Gaither Vocal band, Bill and Gloria Gaither, naturally, and rather more surprisingly, the Newsboys. The songs are as varied in style as the make up of the guest list of course. There are delightful duets featuring Vestal trading phrases with Janet Paschal ( Friends), Jake Hess ( Big Homecoming) and George Jones ( Angel band). There are stunning solos from Jessy Dixon (Leaving On My Mind), Candy Christmas (Lord, Send Your Angels) and Sue Dodge (Somebody Touched God For Me). There's a little country rock from The Newsboys. Then of course there are great examples of Southern Gospel close harmony Won't It Be Wonderful There. A fitting tribute for a truly golden couple.
