Rob Bell

Rob Bell born 23^rd August, 1970 is the son of Judge Robert Holmes Bell and grew up in a traditional Christian family environment. During his college years Rob was part of a rock band with friends called “Ton Bundle”. In the late 80s and early 90s the band began to generate some local fame and was often asked to perform at large events, however Bells dream of being a rock star fell through due to a head injury so bell moved his ambition into a different field.  During college Bell also met his wife Kristen.

Rob began to teach water skiing lessons in the summer months of college at Honey Rock Camp, where he began to teach a Christian message to the camp counsellors as no preachers could be found at the time. Rob bell has often said that god led him to teaching at this moment, which began his conquest into the world of Christian teaching.  To pursue his calling teaching Rob moved to California where he attended preaching classes at Fuller Theological Seminary.  During his time at Fuller Rob attended a Christian assembly, which developed the idea and thinking of how a new style of church would appear, as Rob was always interested in innovative Christian teaching. This idea led to the creation of Mars Hill church in 1999 that started in a school gym and within a year was given a shopping mall.

Rob was names number 10 in the Thechurchreport.co magazine for the 50 most influential Christian in America.
