Response is Phil Wickham’s fifth CD after his independent release Give You My World and the second since his marriage to long time girlfriend, Mallory Plotnik. Spurred on by his parents and pastor to write and perform his own worship songs, Phil recall’s his first as ‘I want to be with Him’ written at age 13.
Phil never went out to make it in the music world. Pressure to release a CD drew the first response ‘are you kidding? No way.’ With the release of Response, Phil’s acknowledged music influences of Jeff Buckley, U2, Ryan Adams, Travis and Cold Play have grown mixed and matured into a style all his own.
