New International Version Bibles (NIV)

The New International Version Bible is a thorough and revised version of the Bible, beautifully formed by over 100 scholars, translating from exceptional Hebrew, Aramaic and Geek texts. Having sold over 220 million copies worldwide, it is a version that provides a protestant translation, priding itself on accuracy and clear translations.

The birth of the NIV bible was nearly 50 years ago in 1965, as there was a growing need for a new translation in contemporary English. The birth place of the NIV was in Illinois, America, where the parents, the Christian Reformed Church, National Associations of Evangelicals and dedicated scholars begun the project. In 1967, the NIV was helped to blossom by Biblica, formerly known as The New York Bible Society, as they were assigned to the project and took on the sponsorship. In 1973, the New Testament was published and 5 years later, marked the year the NIV Bible was 1^st printed to its entirety, with additional amendments in 1983.

Due to the colossal efforts to bring forward a precise and truthful translation of the Bible, the NIV is regarded as a translation suitable for all to use. With the main ambitions of the NIV, creating a version that can be used for public and private reading, suitable for preaching and memorising, with clear teaching qualities. The NIV Bible provides Gods word in written form and it continues to influence the lives of Christians across the globe and is the world’s most popular Bible.
