Mission Praise

Mission Praise is an iconic hymn book originated from the ‘Mission England Praise’ prepared for, southern Baptist, William Franklin ‘Billy’ Graham, during his 1984 Mission England Campaign. The book is used across Britain in a variety of churches, including the Church of Scotland and the Church of England and continues to grow through each new edition.

The original Mission Praise book contained 282 worship songs and hymns and now that number has grown to a massive 1144 hymns and songs. Throughout the years there have been many releases of different versions including the ‘Mission Praise Combined’ and the ‘Complete Mission Praise’. During its 25 years in churches across the UK, it has become a natural piece of church furniture. It has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and continues to be the leading source for hymns and worship songs.

Mission Praise is available in many formats and is suitable for all ages and diversities, as there are also related books, ‘Junior Praise’ and ‘Carol Praise’ available.

Origin of Mission Praise

An Introduction to the Birth of Mission Praise

Peter Horrobin was the founder and lead compiler of the amazingly popular Mission Praise that was established over 25 years ago and it gained its 25th anniversary in 2009. Mission Praise is a long standing tradition that was born from many sources and with its development over the years, is has become a traditional source of music and is used in churches across the world.

The Changing Face of Mission Praise

The Growth of Mission Praise

Mission Praise Hymn BookMission Praise has reformed over passing years and has gone through a few makeovers. As the times are changing, so too are the trends, designs and the look of certain products. Take for example the iPod, when it was originally introduced it was big enough to sit on....well not that big! But you get what we mean! With this, Mission Praise is no different, with the advancements in technology and the modern attitude, Mission Praise has done well to stay 'trendy' as well as keeping to its traditional roots. After meeting the needs of Churches across the United Kingdom, MissioMission Praise Hymn Bookn Praise has kept up with the ever-changing world since its first publication way back in 1984. It has stood strong over the years and has matured with greatness, also finding time to give birth to proud additional books Junior Praise and Carol Praise.

With the evolving face of Mission Praise meeting todays fashion standards it has also even been produced as an online service making mixing and matching songs available, alothough we do prefer the traditional book versions! Releasing its 25th anniversary addition in 2009 it has gone from strength to strength and will continue to grow...watch this space!
