Each year we eagerly await the Passion album which will be recorded at the 60,000 strong student conference hosted by Louie Giglio at Atlanta's Georgia Dome. This year it took place over the first 4 days of January and by all accounts people looked like they had a lot of fun and a time of great spiritual renewal. This year's conference was themed on the verse from Isaiah 26:8 – ' Yes Lord, Walking in the way of your truth, we wait eagerly for you, for your name and your renown are the desire of our souls.'
Not only were there a host of renowned speakers including Louie Giglio, Beth Moore and John Piper but they sat alongside worship leader greats Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder Band, Christy Nockels and more. I can only imagine the buzz that resonated from the stadium.
A few of the key tracks to watch out for:
A stand-out written collaboration between Chris Tomlin and Martin Smith 'God's Great Dance Floor' – as featured in the video on this page! This track also features in Chris' latest album Burning Lights and a future release from Martin Smith of the same name out later in the year.
Matt Redman's rendition of 'Jesus Only Jesus' and 'Here's My Heart' from the wild and wacky Crowder from the David Crowder Band and that's just a few as you get a full 14 tracks of high-energy praise and worship.
Since its humble beginnings in 1998 the Passion Conference has grown from strength to strength with Louie Giglio at the helm. With over 1.8 million albums sold from the Passion Movement, this is sure to be another album soaked in passion and alive with Spirit-filled tracks that will go on to become church and festival favourites.
