| Initial contract for one year, possible extension if funding secured. The Childrens Society is committed to developing strategies which promote protection for children and young people who are on the streets and extremely vulnerable. 2-Way Street is a new project set up to develop services for young people under the age of 18 who have run away, are on the streets and taking risks. Through early identification and intervention, you will develop preventative work with young people who run away. For this post you must have a relevant professional qualification at Diploma level in Social Work or Youth and Community Work, or have substantial experience of working with young people at risk, as an understanding of the issues that affect young people who go missing is essential. A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, and promoting the needs and rights of young people is required, along with the skills to work in high-risk environments with a high threshold of confidentiality. |
