| National Remand Review Initiative The NRRI staff team reviews the remands to prison custody or secure accommodation of individual young people aged 12-17. We advocate on their behalf for a non-custodial alternative and support other agencies in developing good practice. The staff team is in place and effective working relationships have been established with the local prisons and other institutions. We now need someone with good management skills to support and develop this committed and able team to carry forward this work. You will have experience of supervising staff engaged in face-to-face work with young people in difficult and challenging situations and have appropriate management/supervisory skills. You will also be able to monitor budgets and produce plans and reports. You will need a relevant professional qualification in youth & community work or social work, law or equivalent. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals in Youth Offending Teams, the Courts, Social Services Departments and the Prison Service. Funding for this post is available until March 2002 in the first instance. Closing date: 2nd February 2001. Interview date: 19th February 2001. |
