We are looking for an experienced Deputy Project Leader to join our community project working towards national outcomes in Housing & Homelessness, Poverty and Participation where we are committed to promoting equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

In addition to deputising on a frequent basis for the Project Leader, you will be expected to provide leadership and direct supervision to a large staff team whilst promoting the inclusion of children, young people and local people in regeneration and other initiatives. You will represent The Society at a local level in a number of funding and other partnerships and at national level in relation to national outcomes. You should therefore have the capacity to develop funding bids for both UK and EU programmes.
You will need a professional qualification in Youth & Community Work, Social Work or equivalent, or substantial experience of at least five years in a relevant post.
Experience of working directly with children and young people, and with volunteers and local people in an empowering way is essential, along with proven experience of working in a community setting. An understanding of staff supervision, management of budget administration and the ability to manage change is also required.

As well as good interpersonal skills, you should also be able to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will at times be working on your own, so an ability to prioritise your own workload and work without supervision is essential.
