OK to show this DVD to church film club?

Nov 27th, 2016 - Posted by Agnes Hoban about Risen DVD Subscribe Answered Product 1 503 views

Dear Sir We run a small film club at our church and have local permissions for this. Also there is the CCLI listing which shows which studios allow such showings. This list has Sony Picture Classics as an allowable. You info on the Risen DVD states it is issued by "Sony". Are these two names the same company - in which case it is allowable to show this DVD. Just need clarification that we can purchase this DVD and then legally show it at our local film club. We do not charge any entrance fee. Your assistance would be much appreciated as we have been told how good a DVD subject this is. Many thanks for your assistance. Agnes Hoban 27 11 2016

Hi Agnes,
Risen does not come under your CVL I'm afraid. There is a 'Single Title Screening Licence' which can be purchased for a single showing and covers an DVD release, regardless of Studio. ]

I hope this is of help to you. Risen is a genuinely good film and runs with a solid premise for a new way of looking at the classic Easter story.
