Does this book address the issues of corporal punishment and parenting such as spanking and hitting with a stick

Dear Bernice,
As I have not read this title the only information I have is the product synopsis which is located under the product. Nowhere can I find that it addresses spanking on being hit with a stick. I feel sure that it uses the modern approach to parenting where understanding the child's psyche and encouragement are the main tools for parenting.
