Following on from their last live album, 'You Make Me Brave', Bethel worship hit the road to record 'Star-Light. It's brand new album of powerful songs that explore how God is both vast and close.
'Star-light' is Bethel breaking new poetic ground. The moving lyrics of the album are short yet powerful; vivid, yet deep.
Leading these songs are some of Bethel's most passionate musicians, including Jenn Johnson (fresh from recording 'After all These Years'), Steffany Gretzinger, Amanda Cook, Kristene DiMarco, Kalley Heiligenthal, Melissa Helser, Hannah McClure, and Francesca Battistelli.
Songs like 'Take Courage', a song which reminds us of how much bigger God is than then everything, but still there for us, and the titular 'Starlight', a poignant and infectious track dwelling on God's closeness, all come together towards comprehending one thing:
God is great; God is close.
Capturing the immensity of God who stretches out across space and time, beyond what we can know and comprehend, 'Star-light' is the perfect follow-up to 'You Make Me Brave', which showed all we can be in Christ.
'You Make me Brave' came from atop the mountains looking down, but 'Starlight, recorded on the road, looks up. It gazes with awe on the infinite majesty of the God who threw the stars in place, but is closer than your next breath.
