I am very impressed with this Youth Bible. Everything inside the NLT Live invites creative interaction – encouraging genuine engagement with God’s Word.
To encourage spiritual creativity the LIVE Bible is covered with real photos, quotes and poems by young people their age. I read through Proverbs and found: 6 colour and grayscale photos (taken by young people), 2 quotes (by Donald Miller & the Archbishop of Westminster), and an original poem (by Megan Houtchen, aged 16).
I love that this Bible is journaling-friendly. With cornered off sections that are completely blank, teenagers are encouraged through challenges, activities and reflections to fill it in. They could use words, pictures, photos, lyrics, prayers, poem or anything to express their thoughts and reflections.
Everything is linked to an online hub. After reading the Bible they have space to upload their thoughts, comment on other peoples uploads or browse through the website. It’s a place to be inspired and inspire others.
I really love this Bible (but I am one those creative types). If you’re someone who is creative and yearns to express themselves – the NLT LIVE Bible is absolutely their cup of tea. If not then I’d consider looking for a Bible that better reflects you. Teenagers with artistic flair, passion for photography, drama in their hearts, song’s lyrics bursting out and creative writing flowing from their pens will find a new best friend in the NLT LIVE Bible.
