Where has 2012 gone?! Each year seems to go so much faster than the last, and with each month flying by I always need a reminder to slow down, to appreciate every single day and to spend time with God each day.
So this brings me to the subject of One Year Bibles, a great place to start when it comes to considering how to fit in daily Bible readings in manageable chunks that will get you through the whole of scripture in a year. Now as you can imagine there are a huge variety of One Year Bibles to choose from in pretty much every translation you can think of but let’s start with the main translations and see what there is on offer.
KJV, if you’re a traditionalist and love reading the poetic language of the King James Version then there's are whole host to choose from. For example, the KJV One Year Paperback is a handy little Bible to accompany you on your daily commute. You get a bit from the Old a bit from the New and a bit of Psalms and Proverbs. With the average reading time of 15 minutes, you can go through the whole Bible in 365 daily snippets.
Or if you would like something with more substance - an inspiring devotional reading alongside the daily portion of God’s word - then check out the NKJV Devotional Daily Bible. Or if you're a fan of a more traditional style with updated language then why not take a peek at the new ESV Daily Reading Bible.
Looking for a more modern translation with a twist? How about a Chronological Bible?
The NLT One Year Chronological Bible: Paperback is a great gift edition with interior art in a unique square shape.
For those looking to add study to their daily devotions, why not take a look at the NLT One Year Study Bible. Each daily reading includes a passage from the Old and New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs along with a short study reflection and extra study notes to give a deeper understanding of scripture. Easy to read with accessible study notes make this a great way to not only read, but also understand God’s word in a year.
For teens and pre-teens, or those who have been to Soul Survivor, take a look at the NIV Soul Survivor Bible in One Year. Via the academic year, this Bible guides you through God’s word in a unique and relevant way to read the Bible. Plus it includes a little help from the Soul Survivor gang, with commentary from Mike Pilavachi and Andy Croft.
Be sure to take a closer look in our One Year Bibles - using the 'Filter & Options' section on the left-hand side of the screen - to find the perfect Bible to accompany you through the coming year.
May this be a year you follow God's guiding light as you walk through the dark valleys and refreshing streams of life.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”- Psalm 119: 105, NIV.
