Bishop Tom Wright is a man of many accomplishments, the author of many books and now holder of a prestigious academic post, and even a leftfield contender for Archbishop of Canterbury. But can he sing?
But footage from America shows the bearded author of Suprised by Hope in a whole new light, and makes you wonder if he could have had an alternative career - in pop.
He was caught on camera performing to a delighted crowd at the 'Rabbit Room' a Coffee shop and Arts hub in Nashville, USA, and clearly enjoying himself.
In this cover of the Bob Dylan classic 'When the Ship Comes In', the former Bishop of Durham proves himself nearly as good with six strings and a microphone, as he is with a pen.
And just to show that his writing can rhyme, as well as hold intellectual weight, here Wright reinterprets (after a short preamble) the Beatles classic 'Yesterday' to give his own inimitable take on the 'evolution vs creation' debate.
