This film stars husband and wife team Kirk and Chelsea Cameron (John and Maddie Miller) together with two talented young actors Jared Miller (Cody) and Nicole Nielsen (Bea) as the Miller family. On the face of it they have everything going for them but Cody’s problem with his Little League Baseball coach and John’s with his ‘scrapper’ business threaten to ruin the happy family image. The theme of the story is about trying to handle your problems alone.
Eventually both John and Cody learn to rely on friends, teammates, and their faith and family allowing them to overcome in the battles they face. If you don’t ‘get’ kid’s baseball and how important it appears to be much of this will be wasted. However stick with it and you’ll discover how the two stories dovetail well and what the Mercy Rule is. It’s well produced with some interesting supporting characters adding to the story and all the kids turn in creditable performances.
