King's Daughters - A Small Beginning

Angela De Souza

It's started as a simple blog in April 2009. Who would have thought that in just over three short years that it would have grown into an international women's ministry?

Angela De Souza, a stay home mother of four, began sharing her thoughts about life, family and church on her blog. It wasn't long before she discovered her passion for writing to women about who they really are.

One thing lead to another and in October 2010 she released her first book, Hope's Journey, where she openly wrote about her struggle with self-harming and depression. This book brought many women, young and old, to reveal their struggles in life. It was then that Angela realised how alone most women in the UK feel and felt that she needed to do something about it. She knew that she had to find a way to reach out to all walks of life and cut across cultural and church divides.

1 January 2011 was when Girl's Nights and the King's Daughters Conference was conceived. That year was kicked off with one big question - What is the true meaning of being a woman? The entire year was dedicated to exploring that question. The question was discussed in Girl's Nights and the results were published in a book, Being a Woman.

In September of 2011 the King's Daughters Conference was a celebration of the most important find of the year, the result was simply that women are a beauty with a purpose.

Testimonies began flooding in and soon King's Daughters started receiving requests for teaching material and support in other countries. On 12th May 2012 King's Daughters Uganda was launched in Kampala Uganda. This was the first Girl's Night to be launched other than the one that met at Angela's home each Tuesday. It was a roaring success and kick started many other Girl's Nights all over the world.

Today, King's Daughters is running various events World Wide and testimonies continue to flood in. The King's Daughters Network has been established to offer support and free resources to individuals and churches.

Where possible Angela visits churches to set up King's Daughters and to encourage women. Her passion is to help women to understand their true identity and value so that they can lead an amazing, abundant life with passion and purpose.
