I read this book in one sitting, in just over 3 hours, as I could not put it down. It was in turns honest, amusing, warm, witty and above all transparently relevant and real – albeit in a strangely glossed over way. There’s a reason though for that glossed over feel, touched on insightfully by the author herself, and that’s because at the end of the day each person’s journey and experience of vocation discernment and formation is going to be different and particular to them. That said this book is a refreshingly helpful look at what might be experienced and is a great way to gain just a little more insight into a journey you may be contemplating on ... or even trying to find a way to avoid taking. From atheist to deacon this is an amusingly told story that highlights some real issues in a gently engaging way.
