We Review The Manual Book 6

Les Ellison

Small enough for your back pocket, car glove box or lap top bag, these daily Bible notes for blokes are the pocket sized spiritual tool kit for fixing your day before it even starts to go wrong.

In the sixth edition of his Y-chromosome based daily Bible notes for blokes, author/editor Carl Beech calls in two more manly mates to throw in a bit of their own DIY wit and wisdom. This time it’s Mark Greenwood; director of the 40:3 Trust, rugby and curry fan, and former butcher – and he actually looks like one, complete with dodgy sidees and a beard. Also, Ian Manifold; chairman of Christian Vision for Men, retired cancer specialist, current cycling fan and owner of a reassuringly blokish surname that sounds like a bit of an engine.

Like the previous five 'The Maunual' books, this one gives you 60 quick Bible fixes for under a fiver. Each is never more than 300 words or so including a couple of Bible verses, a reflection on what it’s all about in the context of a man’s world and a response – either a prayer or a tip to get you through the day. And they’re small enough for your back pocket, car glove box, lap top bag or that space under the seat of you motorbike that’s too small for anything else. In fact, think of it as a spiritual pocket tool kit and you’ll be spot on.
