This is a decent compilation featuring All Sons & Daughters, Michael W Smith and Kari Jobe sandwiched between a short spoken word prelude (1:11) and postlude (1:17) by much loved American author Max Lucado. It seems unlikely that many of Lucado’s admirers would buy this record just to hear the author sharing some very brief thoughts on how to pray and reciting the Lord’s Prayer. But that is how it’s been marketed.
The highlight of the record is not Max’s pithy thoughts but Darlene Zschech’s “My Highest Hope” - written exclusively for this compilation as the singer recovers from cancer. This is a strong collection of songs, but if you want to develop your prayer life, your money is better spent on Max’s book rather than this musical compilation.
