    Product Description

The Book of Revelation is the New Testament's final book and, consequently, the Christian Bible's final book. "The title is derived from the first word of the Greek text of Koine: apokalypsis, meaning "Unveiling" or "Revelation." In the canon of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation is the only apocalyptic book. "In the 1522 preface to his New Testament translation, Martin Luther called Revelation "Neither apostolic nor prophetic," Huldrych Zwingli labeled it "Not a book of the Bible," and it was the only book of the New Testament on which John Calvin did not write a commentary. The Book of Revelation is the only New Testament book that is not read by the Byzantine Rite Churches during services, although it is read in the Orthodox Parishes of the Western Rite, which are under the same bishops as the Byzantine Rite. "An anonymous Scottish commentary of 1871 prefaces Revelation 4 with Mark 13's Little Apocalypse, places Malachi 4:5 in Revelation 11 and writes Revelation 12:7 side by side in the Book of Job with the role of "the Satan. Revelation's book is constructed by forming parallels with several Old Testament texts such as Ezekiel, Isaiah, Zechariah, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Exodus, and Daniel. Some believe the Beloved Revelation is an Arabic manuscript from the 18th century about Revelation's book.
